I have been away for far too long but hello I have finally returned to this old website dang flabbit

I have just been putting off writing this for ages and ages because everything has just been so busy!! I'm still now trying to get into the swing of school again, which I'm thoroughly not enjoying at all. But that aside, summer was slightly more eventful than I thought it would be - well, I mostly just stayed in bed for hours every morning but when I did actually do a thing it was quite a big thing of a thing so I guess that made up for it a lot. This may take one or two posts to get together, I have loads of pictures as you can imagine!!

I'm currently scrounging ebay and etsy for some cute new outfits ready for autumn/winter, which is so weird because I feel like I haven't even gotten used to wearing the few items of summer clothing I have yet. This year has gone so fast?? ?! I really want to get more co-ordinated with my clothes over the next few months, because I don't really have anything that goes well together or anything that doesn't look like I've just picked up whatever I can find on my bedroom floor (which I actually have but sshh)

One of the big things that happened this summer was going to stay with Leoni who is the coolest, and me her and Amy had an eventful time shopping at Durham market, climbing up cathedral towers, taking photos, running after Leoni's cat Bella and crying over Benedict Cumberbatch. (u ppl im waitin on your photos from the cathedral)

I have heaps of letters to send to my pals on here and I'm trying to balance my time out doing everything and not just one thing (i.e. tumblr, twitter, fanfiction, schoolwork, said letter writing) because I just feel like poop when I think about not having sent anything. ah. I'm sat on my bed right now blasting Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding and Etta James and feeling really reminiscent of  the old days when I couldn't walk around the house without hearing the voice of at least one of them 24/7. Sometimes I miss being 6 years old. Also, my love for Radiohead and Grimes has expanded a loT over the summer and I've discovered that their songs go satisfyingly well together too!!

I also did my bedroom stairs up a little (I'm still working on it though)

there is now a little garland of some of my negatives, doilies with lyrics/playlists written on them, photos, paintings, two dresses and Debbie Harry/The Clash/Howards End posters which are quite cool to walk through before entering the boring bit (my actual bedroom) which is really plain because my ceilings are sloped (attic) which is a bit annoying because I can't do as much with my walls. So I'm trying to find sneaky ways around this problem by using the empty stair space while keeping them climbable!!

Some really surprising news is that the other day I got the go ahead from my parents to paint stuff on my bedroom walls!! I'm hoping to start with an Aladdin Sane above my bed but I'm also thinking about throwing a mr. Spock in there somewhere too hmm m. I'm so excited to do it man, I just really want to be able to spend my time in a space that I know I've made my own and that I enjoy being in if u feel

I recently joined the babemail group too and so a big hello to you if we are just meeting from that, I'm really excited to send you guys all cute letters and stuff!!

It's lovely to be here again, and hopefully I'll be blogging a lot more in the weeks to come.

STAR TREK IS KILLING ME

no no it really is

i have found myself not breathing a lot over the past few weeks because emotions wow

(look at this and tell me spirk doesn't exist)

anyway

besides crying over sherlock s3 previews/setlock photos/leonard nimoy/martin freeman/william shatner/zachary quinto etc etc etc these past few weeks have consisted of me doing mostly nothing but walking the dog and painting pictures for people's letters (which i will send soon!) as well as the usual moping about on twitter and film watching yhhhhh. i really want to do my bedroom up all cool and jazzy because at the moment it's honestly horrendous and boring and just no nO NO. i fancy one side for fandoms and one side for not - or maybe i'll combine everything??? i don't know i don't know i don't know

i'm a bit angry that i didn't get the whole book series but oh well i'll find them somehow

i don't think i've said this before but gene roddenberry is fantastic. just wow. the visions he had for the world then make me feel so happy and i just can't put anything into words right now - i really could talk about him and star trek for hours so i'll keep it brief but i just want to say that i loVe how there is uhura as one of the main characters when there was all that oppression as you all know

here's a lil piece of trivia for you: did you know that martin luther king jr himsELF encouraged her to keep playing the role when she was considering leaving the show because of the good it was doing for black people??? he said "don't you understand? for the first time we are seen as we should be seen. You don't have a black role - you have an equal role." it makes me so happy i want to cry

don't get me wrong i know there are problematic things in star trek just like there is in everything, i can acknowledge that, but the point is there are so many /right/ things about it that i have to sing to the world that it's cool. it's all cool.

and let's not forget to mention it showed the first televised multiracial kiss ahhhhhhh

in other news when i say i did nothing.............. i did go to northumberland for a week which was nice and more importantly i actually met Leoni and Amy which was crazy, they're quite possibly the coolest people i've ever met.

most of the pictures i took on film and i must say that one of the highlights of the day was six of us trying to fit into one photobooth (my hair got in the way i think oops)

my scanner is broken so i have to make do

i'm gonna go because i'm really tired wow but i'll add that i may be doing youtube videos again soon

also i think i have a liebster award thing! a post on that is coming soon i promise.

hello all

i broke up for summer on friday and i am now free for seVEN WEEKS which is still not long enough in my opinion.

my loose feelings of loose freedom are reflected in my loose lack of capital letters (which i already hate at the best of times) (they're ugly) so forgive my grammar today.

we're having some kind of heatwave in england and nobody really knows what's going on. it was nearly 30 degrees up here the other day???? what>?>?? i think everyone is waiting for the rain to appear and being a bit cautious of jinxing the weather or something. it's honestly sweltering though and i'm not used to this at all! i feel sorry for animals with fur. (irrelevant) 

over the holidays i really want to try doing something productive with myself, e.g. do some kind of project, get actual art homework actually done, read a new book series, make a new header for this blog, and i also want to get some more packages/letters sent to people (you can drop me an email if you're up for swaps!) along the way. i think i may have found my solace in swapping packages because it's just so ssss o so exciting! i'm also thinking about having a go at making some clothes, partly inspired by my cousin after she very kindly made me a beautiful purple tartan skirt the other week.

today i went to a weird market thing in town and they were blasting out 90s tunes including disco 2000, which filled me with pulp feelz, and there was an instance of snoop dogg i think which was switched over to enya within fifteen seconds of it playing. that made me laugh because im not the only one who thinks snoopy d is ew>?>??

i feel i can probably express myself best with pictures so i took a few screencaps of my tumblr to show what i've been reblogging recently. it's sort of a mix of pastels yet also with bright block colours and patterns/shapes. there's also been a lot of peach/pink/red recently which i think is mostly subconscious? maybe.

i also have some good news; i now have tickets to see the arctic monkeys in november and i am doing some filming work over the holidays which is really exciting. (i think i may also be working with printing t shirts with yorkshire tee which is just as cool and exciting)

i hope this isn't /too/ jumbled - it sounds ok in my head, but when i actually try to formulate it into words it just splats all over.
